Once upon a time there was a Knight called the Doctor and a Princess called Rose. In The Persephone Problem the Doctor soothed both himself and Rose by telling his companion fairy stories based upon her travels with him. Over time it became a tradition between them that, whenever Rose was ill or hurt, and sometimes simply because he needed an excuse to be with her in those long hours when she insisted on sleeping, the Doctor would turn their travels together into fairy stories. Reproduced here, as recorded by the TARDIS, are some of those tales.
