Missing chapters since June 2024
Unfortunately, we are missing chapters from June 2024 onwards. As mentioned in the previous news item, any chapters that are known to the system -- that is, they appear in your table of contents, but don't have any text -- can be uploaded without going through the validation process. Only stories posted between March 26 and late April will need to be validated.
We can't apologize enough for this issue.
WE'RE BACK!
We've recovered from our server issues! Everything on the site is current as of March 26, 7:30am Eastern Time, so if you submitted something after that point, please resubmit it; we'll validate it as quickly as we can.
We have also noticed some issues of missing story chapters that we cannot locate in our backup. We're not sure why this happened and are looking into it. In the meantime, you can edit the missing chapters to add the text, and should not need to go through the validation process again.
Thank you all for your patience with us. This was not an easy recovery, but knowing that people were rooting for us definitely helped.
Art scam alert
A user has reported receiving an art spam comment of the type currently affecting AO3. If you receive messages like this, please contact help@whofic.com with a link to the comment so we can ban the spammer.
Generative AI policy update to Terms of Service & Submission Guidelines
As of today, we have updated our terms of service and submission guidelines to confirm that you may use generative AI to craft your stories. However, you must tag these stories with the new "AI-generated" warning, and you must include an author's note on each chapter explaining how AI was used for the chapter: in whole, just in part, etc.
